The hits keep coming for woke Disney. No, not hits on the big screen, and not even hits on the small screen. In fact, the mouse is bleeding cash in the theaters, with streaming, and at the theme park locations. Seems as though indoctrinating kids and fighting with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis turned out to be not such a good idea.
Disney has faced failure after failure in recent years, ruining beloved franchises like “Toy Story” with the woke “Buzz Lightyear,” creating weird, gender-inappropriate content like “Strange World,” and churning out bad sequels like the most recent, and hopefully last Indiana Jones movie.
Still, that hasn’t discouraged the mouse from pushing forward and offering even more woke, failing offerings on the big screen. The company is facing an estimated $350 million disaster from “The Marvels,” and the latest version of a once bulletproof “Captain America” franchise is in so much trouble that it is being pushed back almost two years.
“Captain America: Brave New World” is the latest offering from the MCU, but test screenings have been very bad. So bad, in fact, that the network is planning extensive reshoots in hopes of fixing the problem. Disney is reportedly planning five months of reshoots to fix the problems with the movie.
The film was originally scheduled for July 2024 but is being pushed to February 2025. Five months of reshoots equals the time it actually takes to film many movies, signaling the level of panic Disney is facing. Of course, the studio is blaming it on the writer’s strike, but considering the movie wrapped shooting in June, that makes little sense.
