Candace Owens has bad blood for Taylor Swift, accusing the superstar of manipulating her young fans for personal gain and injecting liberal politics into her songs.
The conservative speaker and documentary filmmaker delivered her judgment on a premier version of the DailyWire’s podcast, telling listeners Swift’s “toxic feminism” is setting women back decades.
“She’s the most toxic feminist that’s ever existed,” said Owens, “and what she does is basically, the threat is if she doesn’t get what she wants she writes a song about a guy and then has 15 million girls sing the songs and drops little clues so they know who it’s about. It’s totally psychotic if you really think about it.”
“I hope you really appreciate how psychotic that is if you can’t go two weeks without writing a song about” her dating history, citing past squeezes like John Mayer.
“There’s a bunch of 10-year-old girls whose brains are not developed and then they go attack whoever it is,” she added.
Halfway through her gargantuan “Eras” tour, Swift has gained attention beyond her fan base due to her recent relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, who is no wallflower when it comes to stepping out in public with her. The duo have promoted their appearances at NFL games, and Swift sat box-side with league president Roger Goodell during Sunday’s Super Bowl game.
Tabloids have chronicled up to 20 men and women who have been in flings with Swift since she launched onto the scene in the mid-aughts. Some of the male muses targeted in her break-up hits include Joe Jonas, Taylor Lautner, and Jake Gyllenhaal, all of whom suffered the wrath of Swifties who fill their social media posts with comments about their alleged bad boyfriend behavior.
Citing media mogul Scooter Braun, who sparked an avalanche of criticism by fans after purchasing Swift’s entire catalog, Owens said the harassment encouraged by Swift borders on dangerous.
“Scooter Braun’s family — he has young kids — his family had to go into hiding and get security because Taylor Swift wanted out of the deal that he legally purchased her catalog of music… They tried to kill Scooter Braun’s family,” said said.
However, it may be Kelce who uses his newfound fame thanks to Swift to his own advantage, Owens believes.
“He has said he only dates Black girls. This is not even his type. He realizes this is a good business move for him, and it is. This is a genius business move. But this is going to be one album and it’s over,” she predicted.
Swift, who endorsed President Joe Biden previously, is being courted hard by the Democrat’s campaign because they believe her endorsement would turn out legions of fans who may otherwise stay home on Election Day. Conservatives have fired back, warning Swift to stay in her lane and away from the campaign trail.
