Elon Musk responds to Facebook and Instagram going down all over the world

Elon Musk has spoken out in response to Facebook and Instagram’s servers going down.
Users all around the world were mysteriously logged out of their Meta accounts and went into meltdown on X, the last major social media platform running.
And who better (or worse, depending on who you are) to be there to laugh at them than owner of X, Elon Musk.

Posting on X, he wrote: “If you’re reading this post, it’s because our servers are working.”
Andy Stone, Communications Director at Meta, wrote: “We’re aware people are having trouble accessing our services. We are working on this now.”

Musk also responded to Stone’s update with the below tweet.

Facebook and Instagram users took to X to share their frustrations, as a social media apocalypse on this scale seemingly hasn’t happened since Twitter users were logged out in 2022, prior to Musk’s takeover.
As expected, there were a number of hilarious tweets on show for other users to share, like and have a good laugh at.
One mirrored some of our thoughts, writing: “Anyone else freak out and think they was being hacked?”
Another made a great point: “Love that I can always count on Twitter to confirm that Meta is down and we’ve all been logged out of facebook and Instagram isn’t working.”
A different user added: “Me opening twitter to see if my phone is not broken, and facebook and messenger is just down,” accompanied with a hilarious video of Kris Jenner nonchalantly closing her laptop.
It was almost as if anyone and everyone made their return to X to comment on the technical hitch.
Someone else said: “Everybody checking twitter to see if facebook is down for everyone else,” with a video of The Weeknd in a maze at his iconic Super Bowl halftime show.
Another put: “Everyone coming back to Twitter while Instagram and Facebook are down,” along with a video for wrestling fans showing one of the Undertaker’s legendary entrances.
2010s icon 9GAG even posted about the situation, saying: “Me coming to X to check if Facebook and Instagram are down for everyone or just me,” with a GIF of the one and only Paul Rudd.
The websites and apps have since gone back up and look to be fully functioning at the time of writing.
But for that one hour, social media was almost like a minefield of memes, reactions and hilarious videos.
