This actor was one of the highest-paid child actors. He is known for his iconic role on the hit sitcom “Two and a Half Men.” But he made a public departure fueled by a rediscovery of faith. Many years later he made a rare public appearance and some fans could not recognize him.

This actor started his career at a young age. He joined the famous sitcom “Two and a Half Men” when he was only 10, and fans practically got to see him grow up on screen. However, his relationship with the show changed over time as his onscreen character also evolved.

The former child actor reached a significant turning point in his life that few anticipated. In 2012, he appeared in a video released by a church group based in Alabama, called The Forerunner 777, where he reflected on his newfound faith and how his career did not align with his religious beliefs.

The actor went on record saying that he was not proud of being on “Two and a Half Men” and encouraged people to stop watching the show. He expressed his desire to be disconnected from the show, saying, “Please stop watching it. Please stop filling your head with filth.”

When the video was released, he had just signed a one-year contract with the show. But to top it off, the former child star was also named the highest-earning child actor at 17, earning up to $300,000 per episode. Regardless of this achievement, he described himself as a “paid hypocrite.”

At the time, he had just joined the Seventh-day Adventist Church and admitted that his role in “Two and a Half Men” did not align with his Christian beliefs. “You cannot be a true God-fearing person and be on a television show like that,” he explained.

The actor’s character grew up to be a teenager who was curious about sex and drugs, but he confessed that his real life was nothing like Jake Harper’s life. This famous child star in question is Angus T. Jones, who was the “half man” on “Two and a Half Men.”

In fact, when asked how he felt delving into the adult storylines of his character, he said it was “very awkward.” Jones did not even feel old enough to be engaging with the more mature storylines. He expressed, “I mean, I am with these people on set that I have been with since I was 8 years old, and doing the adult thing when I am still not an adult. I mean, I am 18, but I am not an adult.”

The actor revealed that he never drank but admitted that he tried out a few drugs in high school. However, he remained a virgin and religiously read the Bible. He opened up about how much he loved to discover “the truth” and apply the things he learned to his life.

Therefore, while he was learning, he realized that he needed to separate himself from the show because it contradicted what he was discovering in the Bible. “I’m not okay with what I’m learning, what the Bible says, and being on that television show,” he reiterated.

The actor, who joined the famous sitcom from its first season at only 10 years old, slowly started to fade out of the show in season 10. But he returned for the show’s finale in 2015.

Looking back at the statements he made after joining the Seventh-day Adventist Church, he started reconsidering his decision to leave acting. However, the actor did invest much of his time learning and being a part of different religious organizations.

After leaving the sitcom, Jones went to college at the University of Colorado, where he majored in environmental studies but later decided to switch to Jewish studies as his relationship with organized religion developed.

However, after spending his college years in these organizations, he wanted to discover himself outside of them. Jones explained, “Right now, I’m stepping away from the organizational business-model programs. I’m interested in seeing where I go without an organization putting a stamp of approval on if I’m good or bad or whatever.”

As he stepped out on his own, Jones slowly considered getting back into acting. In a 2016 interview, he revealed that he had been enjoying being on set again. “Getting to be back on the set with everyone again kind of showed me how much I did like it and how much a part of me acting is,” he added.

The actor was aware that the door to get back into acting is very much open, but he wanted to ease himself back onto the screen. But after a long hiatus from acting, Jones has grown so much that people thought he was unrecognizable.
