A heartwarming video was recently shared on social media following President Donald Trump’s massive grant of clemency to the January 6 protestors, where a daughter got to see her father once again. On his first day in office, Trump pardoned, commuted the sentences, or vowed to dismiss the cases of over 1,500 individuals involved in the event. As a result, countless families have been reunited.
In the footage, a man with an American flag draped over his shoulders picks up his younger daughter, who is elated to see her dad, who had apparently been imprisoned. “Daddy’s home!” she repeatedly exclaimed, wrapping her arms around his neck in a warm embrace. Conservative commentator Graham Allen shared the clip to Facebook, writing, “J6 hostage is finally reunited with his baby daughter ❤️
” He added, “America is healing.”
The video touched the hearts of thousands of users who rejoiced that the prisoners were freed under President Trump. “Notice how the January 6 committee was pardoned as Biden left the office! Just pure treason and torture for an American citizen to have to go through!” one person commented underneath the video.
Another person said, “This girl will always have this memory. Whether people believe he was right or wrong, he stood for his convictions…which so few people do these days. I don’t care which side you stand on, if you have courage and conviction to stand for your beliefs, respect. So few people do these days.” One person similarly wrote, “Thank you Jesus this little girl has her daddy home.”
“Hopefully all these J-6ers will look at their lives and pay it forward after there pardons! Live their lives in a good way, and give God the glory and be thankful for what President Trump has done for them !🙏” another optimistic comment stated. “The people who allowed this to happen to these innocent patriots will have to answer, maybe not here on earth but one day to God. I’m so glad you have your daddy❤️” another person said.
As Trump was signing executive orders shortly after stepping back into the Oval Office, he addressed the January 6 protestors and how they were treated under the Biden administration. “I see murderers in this country get two years, one year, and maybe no time. So they’ve already been in jail for a long time. These people have been destroyed. What they’ve done to these people is outrageous. There’s rarely been anything like it in history, in the history of our country, and even people that were aggressive, and in many cases, I believe they happen to be outside agitators,” he said.
“But I think they were, I think they were outside agitated. They were outside agitators involved,” he added. “And obviously the FBI was involved because Wray admitted the FBI was involved. Didn’t he say 23 people, indirectly or directly were involved, and it was in 26 that’s a lot of people. Now we have, we’re going to take care of these people have been treated so badly.”
