A veteran Oklahoma state senator was caught on camera in a heated confrontation with a sheriff’s deputy during a traffic stop that escalated into a “very verbal” exchange. Body camera footage obtained by Fox News Digital shows State Sen. Regina Goodwin, a Democrat from Tulsa, arguing with Tulsa County Sheriff’s Deputy Freddie Alaniz shortly after 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 11, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The incident, recorded by the deputy’s body-worn camera, began with a tense interaction after Goodwin was pulled over. Alaniz stated that he witnessed the senator failing to stop at two stop signs. “Ma’am, I’m not going to ask you again. Can I get your driver’s license, or can I take you to jail on running a stop sign?” Alaniz asked Goodwin shortly after pulling her over and repeatedly asking to see her license. “I’m not going to ask you again. It’s not for debate.” You can check out the video below.
