A disturbing video captured a dolphin leaping from the water and landing on concrete at a hotel in Mexico. The dolphin was injured, and a trainer rushed to assist it. There are unconfirmed reports that the dolphin later died from the injury. Marine activists criticized the incident, calling it inexcusable,

as it wouldn’t happen in the wild. The Barcelo Riviera Maya hotel has faced controversy over its dolphin captivity practices, with two dolphins reportedly dying under its care. Animal rights groups have been pushing for the dolphinarium’s closure. The Mexican government is now investigating the deaths of two dolphins, Plata and Alex, at the hotel.
