Vice President JD Vance warned federal judges he believes are overstepping their authority to impede President Trump’s agenda. So far, courts have blocked Trump’s efforts on issues like birthright citizenship and federal grant freezes. Recently, a judge restricted Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency from accessing the Treasury’s payment system, leading Musk to accuse the judge of corruption. Vance criticized judges for encroaching on executive powers, and Trump expressed frustration, calling such rulings a disgrace. Republicans, including Sen. Tom Cotton and Rep. Jim Jordan, have defended Trump, with some planning to introduce impeachment articles against judges blocking his policies. Rep. Andrew Clyde is working on impeachment efforts against Judge John McConnell Jr. for halting a federal spending freeze.
