Tears Fall as Blake Shelton Sings ‘God Gave Me You’ to Terminally Ill 12-Year-Old in a Moment That Silenced the Room

In March 2025, country star Blake Shelton paused his Friends & Heroes tour to grant the final wish of 12-year-old Emily Harper, a leukemia patient at the Jimmy Everest Center in Oklahoma. Her dream was to hear Shelton sing her favorite song, “God Gave Me You.”

On March 10, Shelton arrived at her hospital room with his guitar. He performed an emotional acoustic set, including “Austin” and “Honey Bee,” bringing smiles and tears to everyone present. Emily, clutching a bear named after him, lit up with joy.

Shelton has a history of heartfelt gestures and supports causes like cancer research, disaster relief, and music education.

Emily passed away ten days later. During a show in Greensboro, Shelton dedicated “God Gave Me You” to her, saying, “She’s not with us anymore, but I know she’s up there listening.”

His visit gave Emily and her family a moment of light, love, and lasting comfort.watch more
