Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates recently commented on his previous friendship with infamous financier and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. According to Gates, his relationship with Epstein was “foolish” in hindsight, claiming that any time spent with him was a “huge mistake.” In the years since Epstein hanged himself in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges, Gates expressed regret for his association with the controversial figure.
Gates recently echoed this sentiment when speaking with the Wall Street Journal in an interview last week ahead of his upcoming book release, “Source Code: My Beginnings.” Speaking about Epstein, Gates said, “In retrospect, I was foolish to spend any time with him. I think I was quite stupid. I thought it would help me with global health philanthropy. In fact, it failed to do that. It was just a huge mistake.”Shortly after the presidential election in November, The Tribune reported on comments from President Donald Trump’s nominee for FBI Director, Kash Patel, who demonstrated interest in declassifying files pertaining to embattled rapper Sean “Diddy” and Epstein. Kash maintained that doing so would help restore transparency and trust in America’s institutions.
Criticizing hundreds of thousands of United States Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISA Court) orders obtained “illegally,” Patel stated, “And then when we go back to DOJ and FBI, we still don’t have all the lists, all the FISAs, all of the stuff they did to 275,000 Americans illegally in one year.” He added, “Put that out there. I’m not saying put out the recipe on how to do it. We can keep the hood on the engine, but we can show the American people how they violated our rights. And to me, what you said is the most important, restoring trust in our agencies and departments.”
Explaining how this would help restore trust in the American people, he stated, “=“The way to do that is not to get a piñata and just punch him mercilessly and hoping for some bubble gum to pop out. The way to do that is to literally give the American people the truth.” Building on this, Patel said, “And that’s what they feared about Donald Trump. He’s going to come in there and maybe give him the Epstein list and maybe give him the P. Diddy list. You know, he’s going to come up there and maybe do all these things. And they are terrified.”
In 2023, The American Tribune reported on a massive Twitter threat from the popular conservative account Tom Elliot, which revealed alleged “business links” between Epstein and Gates, sparking concerns. The thread starts, “1) “Epstein has made many millions out of business links with the likes of @BillGates” — 2001 Evening Standard article” while linking to a video below in which Gates is confronted during an interview about his relationship with Epstein.”
The thread continued, “2) While working 1995-96, Epstein victim Maria Farmer said Epstein described Gates as a close friend 3) In the late 90s, Microsoft was in business w/ two separate businesses run by Ghislane Maxwell’s sisters (Magellan & CommTouch), the latter of which Gates personally invested in.” The thread later added, “Gates said Epstein was his “ticket” to winning the Nobel Prize, per his ex-staffer to the Daily Beast. Norwegian media have reported Gates and Epstein met personally w/ the Nobel Committee.”
