Clea Shearer, co-founder of The Home Edit and star of the hit Netflix series Get Organized with The Home Edit, is opening up about another deeply emotional and physically painful chapter in her cancer journey.
The organizational expert revealed she recently underwent her ninth surgery following her double mastectomy — this time an emergency procedure to remove a leaking breast implant.
Shearer described the experience as “traumatic,” sharing her vulnerability in a heartfelt Instagram update.
“I had emergency surgery to remove my implant,” she wrote. “It was leaking. Badly. So badly that it was coming out of the open wound.”
The TV personality and author initially underwent a double mastectomy in 2022 after being diagnosed with breast cancer. What followed was a series of surgeries aimed at reconstruction, but her path has been riddled with complications, setbacks, and pain.
“I’ve done everything I was supposed to do. I followed all the protocols. I had the best doctors. And yet… I’m here again. In pain. Emotionally drained. And out of options,” she wrote.
Shearer’s post included a photo from her hospital bed and a candid message to her followers, many of whom have followed her battle since her diagnosis. She didn’t shy away from expressing her emotional exhaustion, calling the situation “physically painful” and mentally overwhelming.
