I Won’t Give Up My Inheritance Just Because I Wasn’t the “Perfect Daughter”

Hi, I’m Wendy, 35, and a mother of twin 8-year-old boys. My sister Cynthia, 37, spent years caring for our sick mother, while I focused on raising my family. After our mother passed away last week, I was shocked to learn she had transferred all her assets—$85,000 in savings, land, and our family home—solely to Cynthia.

I had always believed my mother wanted us to share everything equally. Cynthia now refuses to split the inheritance, calling me selfish and undeserving. I feel betrayed and lost. Should I fight it legally, talk to my sister, or walk away and try to heal?
